Every member is an experienced chamber musician as well as playing in leading British orchestras. Quintessence performs energetic and enlightening programmes, often including trios and quartets. |

Saturday, November 3rd 2012 The Palace Theatre, Newark at 7.30 pm ELIZABETH KENNY AND FRIENDS Elizabeth, a leading lute player, is joining with Susanne Heinrich who plays the viola da gamba and Pamela Thorby on recorders for this concert of Baroque music. The ensemble's programme is entitled “The Grand Tourists” and is a fascinating programme of virtuoso Spanish, French, Italian and English music. |

Sunday, December 9th 2012 Kelham Hall, Kelham, Newark at 7.30pm MANCHESTER CAMERATA with NATALIE CLEIN 'Cello Manchester Camerata has been established in the North West of England for about 30 years. Natalie is a very well known and internationally respected English born 'cellist and the Music Club is delighted to welcome her to Newark. In 1994 she won the BBC Young Musician of the Year and has won competitions and played all over the world since then. The programme includes Handel, Elgar, Haydn, Barber and Mozart. |

Saturday, February 9th 2013 The Palace Theatre, Newark at 7.30pm JENKINSON/FRITH DUO with Richard Jenkinson ('cello) and Benjamin Frith (piano) Richard Jenkinson has been the principal 'cellist for both the Irish Chamber and the Birmingham Symphony orchestras. He plays in ensembles and is also a soloist. Benjamin Frith studied with Fanny Waterman and has performed with many of the worlds' top orchestras but he also has a lifelong interest in chamber music. They will play a programme of Russian music. |

Its music repertoire is vast and covers a wide variety of styles suitable for different occasions and much is especially composed for the orchestra by both past and present British composers. Because it has a big band sound NYJO's concerts can be enjoyed by both non-jazz and jazz lovers alike. |

Saturday, April 13th 2013 The Palace Theatre, Newark at 7.30 pm VOCES8 Voces is an octet of six male and two female singers. It had an international award-winning reputation and has established itself at the forefront of British a cappella. It has a repertoire ranging from Renaissance polyphony to unique Jazz and Pop arrangements and the group has been praised for stunning performance, exquisite singing and for creating a sound that spans the entire range of vocal colour. Their programme ranges from Gibbons to Gershwin. |
